Love on and off the court-who says you can’t serve up some romance while acing the competition? Meet Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya, the dynamic tennis star couple on everyone’s radar.
If you weren’t familiar with the former before, his show-stopping performance at this year’s Australian Open has certainly put him on the map. This 23-year-old Italian sensation is currently ranked #1 in the world and has his sights set on nabbing the title at this year’s US Open.
But it’s not all rigorous training and high-pressure matches for Sinner; this tennis virtuoso has also found love with fellow star player, Russian Anna Kalinskaya. So how do these two lovebirds juggle the demands of their careers while keeping the flame alive off the court? Let’s find out
Jannik Sinner’s Romantic Rally
When Jannik Sinner is not smashing serves and acing opponents, he has found a special place in his heart for fellow tennis player Anna Kalinskaya.
In a twist of fate straight out of a tennis love story, Sinner and Kalinskaya went public with their romance in May 2024. The duo made headlines as they were spotted cheering each other on at the French Open. The Italian star confirmed the relationship during a press conference, saying, “Yes, I’m with Anna, but we keep everything very confidential. I won’t say more.”
Love All: The Challenges of Mixing Tennis and Romance
Sinner has been quite candid about the hurdles of juggling love and a high-octane tennis career. “Of course it’s not easy, I travel a lot and during tournaments I’m very focused,” he confessed to Vanity Fair Italia. “But I think it’s a beautiful thing when you find the right love. Like for everyone. And then, if you think about it, the best tennis players in the world all have wives and children.”
The couple’s discretion is almost as impressive as their game. Sinner has shared that protecting his loved ones from the media spotlight is a small, but significant, duty. “I want to protect the people closest to me, keeping them out of this,” he said. “I see it as a small task to carry out, almost a duty: they helped me, when I was young, to gain self-confidence, and today in some way I want to protect them.”
