The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up to meet in the Super Bowl for the second time in three seasons. The Chiefs secured the top seed in the AFC, earning a bye during Wild Card weekend. They then defeated the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game. For the Eagles, their path to the Super Bowl included wins over the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams before beating the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game.
With the big game just over a week away on Feb. 9, the Caesars Superdome crew already painted the field. The Eagles’ design is in one end zone, while the Chiefs’ design fills the other. When the video of the field made its way to social media, fans were quick to notice the fully painted end zone on the Kansas City side. At Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City simply has the word “Chiefs” written, leaving the rest of the end zone untouched.
This time, it was fully painted in gold, which some fans mistook for yellow. “Gold end zone? It’s over for Philly,” one fan said. “Yellow,” another wrote. “YELLOW. END. ZONE ,” added another. “Yellow Chiefs end zone? Philly its been a good run this year,” one wrote. YELLOW ENDZONE! ,” said another. “I wish yellow end zones were the standard for home games,” another fan said.
