Rodgers deployed Daizen Maeda in a central striker role while resting Adam Idah, who will play a key role against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
Maeda will be suspended for the Champions League first leg and he’ll be missed even more having fired in a sensational hat-trick against the Fifers on Saturday.
The impressive pair of Luke McCowan and Yang Hyun-jun also got themselves on the scoresheet as Celtic’s strength in depth shone through this evening.
Rodgers reacts to Celtic 5-0 Raith Rovers
Reacting to the win on Premier Sports, Rodgers said his players carried out everything that was asked of them before the tie.
He said: “Listen, these games over the years, you can get caught out with fixtures like these. We’ve lost games at the club like that before but I think you can only tip your hat to the players’ professionalism, mentality.
“We set some objectives for the game because you’re a team that’s expected to win, you should win, but there were other things we looked for in the performance of the game and the players delivered.
“The counter-pressing, we wanted to give them no more than six passes in any sequence of passing they had. So you can see the hunger of the players getting onto the ball which allows you to sustain your attacks. So nah, really, really good.”
Rodgers handed Viljami Sinisalo his debut while defender Dane Murray and transfer deadline day signing Jeffrey Schlupp their first Celtic Park starts.
Yang justified his selection with a goal and two assists while McCowan took his chance with a dazzling performance.
“We’ve rotated this year to keep players fit and strong and sometimes I haven’t wanted to rotate, but I know I have to to maintain the freshness and energy in the team.
“But then the players go out and deliver and nah, they were very, very good today in all aspects of the game.”
Paulo Bernardo injury update
Rodgers was also quizzed on the status of midfielder Paulo Bernardo. The 23-year-old was forced off in the first-half with a knock to his ankle and it cast doubt over his availability for Bayern Munich.
But the Celtic boss has eased fears by saying he was taken off more as a pre-cautionary measure.
“Asked if it was a serious concern, Rodgers replied: “Well I spoke to Tim (Williamson) and he probably came off a wee bit more as a precaution.
“He just rolled his ankle a wee bit but he should be okay.”
