Boston Bruins Top Forward Just Made His True Feelings Known Towards The Organization Ahead Of Free Agency…
With the Boston Bruins season coming to an end, a top forward this year has revealed his true colours towards the organization as free agency around the corner.
The Boston Bruins ultimately will not be making the playoffs for the first time this year in eight years, but one of the team’s biggest bright spots of the year in Morgan Geekie has revealed his true feelings towards the organization going forward.
In the 2024-25 season, Geekie ended up reaching another level for the Boston Bruins, as he set new career highs in goals with 33, assists with 24, and points with 57 in 77 games this season. He also ended the season on an 11-game point streak, where he posted nine goals and had 10 assists.
There was some debate early on in the season that the Boston Bruins may end up trading Geekie during the NHL Trade deadline, as he had a very slow start to the year, but it’s looking like he is going to be sticking around.
With the season coming to an end, and Geekie set to be an unrestricted free agent, he revealed his true colours towards the organization ahead of free agency.
Bruins Morgan Geekie Reveals True Colours Towards Organization
After this year, it’s clear that Geekie is going to get a pay raise next year, but the Bruins are luck that he is a restricted free agent. Right now, Geekie is making $2 million, and he is obviously set to make more then that, but with the Bruins entering a “retool” it’ll be interesting to see what they end up offering him.
If Geekie were to have it his way, he would be sticking around with the Bruins for awhile, as he stated when speaking to reporters during the Bruins season ending media availability that he wants to be a Bruin for a long time:
“I’d love to stay as long as I can,” Geekie said.
The Boston Bruins should definitely want to keep him around, especially with how good he has developed some chemistry with David Pastrnak, this could be key for them moving forward in their retool.
The Bruins have a big move to make, and only time will tell which direction they head.
