About the Role

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will work within the Connectivity Tool Programme, a digital initiative that provides public bodies and built-environment professionals with access to transport, connectivity, and spatial data for policy and investment decisions.

You will support senior project leaders in coordinating delivery activities, maintaining project controls, and ensuring effective governance processes are followed.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently while supporting Agile methodologies and maintaining accurate project documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

  • Maintaining project plans, schedules, and delivery trackers.
  • Managing RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies).
  • Monitoring mitigation actions and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Coordinating governance meetings and preparing project documentation.
  • Supporting procurement activities and resource management.
  • Assisting with financial tracking and reporting.
  • Supporting Agile delivery processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Maintaining product backlogs and project documentation.
  • Working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants should possess:

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong organisational and project coordination abilities.
  • Experience working within project delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and sprint cycles.
  • Experience maintaining delivery documentation and project records.
  • Understanding of governance, risk, and issue management processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Confidence using digital tools to analyse and present project information.
  • Knowledge of project management frameworks such as PRINCE2, APM, or Agile methodologies, or willingness to work towards professional accreditation.

Working Hours and Hybrid Working

  • Full-time employees work 37 hours per week.
  • Part-time applicants are welcome; however, successful candidates must be able to work a minimum of 35 hours per week.
  • This role operates under a hybrid working model, with employees expected to spend at least 60% of their working time in the office or attending business-related meetings.

Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required.
