Real Madrid took on Athletic Club at Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga Matchday 30. What was expected to be a difficult game for the Whites, turned out to be a comfortable win, with Rodrygo stepping up and scoring both goals.
Here are Real Madrid’s player ratings.
Lunin: 8
Made very important saves including the volley from Iñaki Williams from the corner in the second half.
Mendy: 7
Solid in defence once more. Linked up perfectly with the midfield, especially in tight spaces, and kept Iñaki Williams silent.
Nacho: 6
Huge game aerially and with ground duels. Made great recoveries in the game.
Rüdiger: 8
One again a solid performance from the German. The leader at the back and left nothing to chance.
Kroos: 7
Great with his passing and made a number of succesful tackles.
Tchouaméni: 6
Won the most duels in the game and controlled the game in midfield. Was a great link between defence and midfield.
Bellingham: 7
Not the best performance from the Englishman all season, but his assist for Rodrygo’s second goal stands out.
Brahim: 8
Arguably Real’s best player in the first half. He created the most chances and made the most dribbles in the first 45 alone.
Rodrygo: 9
Two goals, a perfect performance and a huge statement coming off a rather disappointing spell in front of goal.
Carvajal: 7
Kept a clean sheet and caused danger for Athletics Club down the right flank. His overlapping runs opened up spaces for the midfield and attacking players
Valverde: 7
The engine on the pitch for Los Blancos. His first half effort was saved by Agirrezabala, coupled with few good runs in the final third as well.
