BREAKING: Top 25 JUCO 6’9″ OT Markel Bell Commits to Miami Hurricanes Markel Bell has made it to the Power Five ranks after a lengthy journey. On Friday night, the fourth-ranked offensive tackle and top 25 JUCO prospect committed to Miami, beating out Arkansas, Auburn, Louisville, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Purdue, and other schools.   Since the summer, Bell, an offensive tackle who stands 6’9″ and weighs 340 pounds, has been a top target for both offensive line coach Alex Mirabal and head coach Mario Cristobal. In 2023, the huge offensive lineman made his debut and immediately attracted the attention of elite programs. “I had largely JUCO offers,” Bell remarked in reference to his high school recruitment. “I had offers from HBCUs. I simply believed that I was capable of more. I had the impression of being a “Power Five” player.   He is a Power Five. This season, Bell willingly went back to Holmes Community College to improve his skills and raise his profile. The JUCO product has undergone a process that has reduced his body weight from almost 380 pounds to his current size of 340 pounds. Bell states that before he enrolls, he wants to reduce to roughly 320. With 25 recruits, including five on the offensive line, Bell joins Miami’s top 12 class, which is a rerun of the 2023 total. He probably joins Deryc Plazz, Kavion Broussard, Juan Minaya, and Nino Francavilla as Miami’s last offensive line addition.
