About the Role
As a Kitchen Porter or Kitchen Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety.
You will work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas.
- Washing pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, and kitchen equipment.
- Cleaning floors, walls, work surfaces, and storage areas.
- Ensuring kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
- Assisting chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required.
- Emptying waste bins and managing recycling procedures.
- Receiving and storing deliveries correctly.
- Restocking cleaning materials and reporting shortages.
- Supporting chefs and kitchen staff during busy periods.
- Following all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures.
