About the Restaurant Manager Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the restaurant’s daily operations. You will lead the Front of House team, oversee service standards, support staff development, and ensure every guest enjoys an outstanding dining experience.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong organisation, communication skills, and the ability to manage a busy restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing the daily Front of House operation.
- Leading restaurant service during busy periods.
- Conducting pre-service team briefings and assigning staff responsibilities.
- Managing staff rotas, attendance, availability, and performance.
- Recruiting, training, and developing Front of House team members.
- Monitoring employee performance and providing feedback.
- Ensuring service standards and operating procedures are followed.
- Managing reservations, large bookings, and guest requirements.
- Handling customer complaints professionally and resolving issues effectively.
- Overseeing opening, closing, cash handling, and EPOS procedures.
- Monitoring beverage stock and coordinating supplier orders.
- Supporting the restaurant’s wine, cocktail, coffee, and tea programmes.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, health and safety, and licensing requirements.
- Reporting operational improvements and staffing needs to management.
- Identifying ways to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Skills and Experience Required
Applicants should have:
- Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager, or experienced Restaurant Supervisor.
- Experience working in a busy table-service restaurant.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent customer service and complaint-handling skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop Front of House teams.
- Good knowledge of food, beverages, and restaurant operations.
- Experience using EPOS, reservation systems, and cash-handling procedures.
